Major League Soccer 2026 Betting Odds & Lines - Bet on North American Football & Soccer

Major League Soccer (MLS) is North America’s premier soccer league. It features 30 teams from across the US and Canada competing for a chance to win the coveted MLS Cup.

Read on to find out your range of soccer betting options for MLS 2026 and what you need to know about MLS betting lines online at Stake Sportsbook.

What is Major League Soccer?

Major League Soccer (MLS) is the top division of soccer in the US and Canada. It features 30 teams, which are split equally between the Eastern and Western conferences.

Unlike European soccer, there’s no promotion or relegation, with the league operating as a closed franchise.

Teams in the MLS compete for the MLS Cup and the Supporters’ Shield. Previous MLS Cup winners include Inter Miami FC, LA Galaxy, Columbus Crew, and Los Angeles FC. Toronto FC remains the only side from outside of the United States to take home the top prize.

How the MLS season format works

The MLS season is split into two phases – the regular season and the postseason. During the regular season, each team will play 34 matches. This includes 28 games against in-conference opponents, once at home and once away. Plus, teams play 6 unique opponents from the other conference, with 3 at home and 3 away.

As in European soccer leagues, teams earn three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a loss in each game. At the end of the season, the team with the highest points overall wins the MLS Supporters' Shield.

MLS teams can also compete in the Leagues Cup. This is an annual tournament between MLS and Liga MX teams. It features 36 teams total: 18 from MLS and 18 from Liga MX.

However, the main prize of North American soccer is the MLS Cup, which is up for grabs after the regular season ends. The top 9 teams from each conference enter the playoffs. The wild card round uses a single-elimination format, but round one of the playoffs is a best-of-3 series. For the conference semifinals and finals, the bracket switches back to a high-stakes single-elimination format. The Cup Final brings together the Western and Eastern Conference champions, with the host decided by which team has the higher points tally in the overall MLS table.

Which teams play in Major League Soccer?

The 2026 MLS season features 30 teams. Inter Miami are the current holders of the MLS Cup, having won the title for the first time in 2025. Meanwhile, Philadelphia Union will look to defend the Supporters’ Shield after winning it for the 2nd time last season.

MLS 2026 outright winner and season-long markets

Stake allows you to bet on every MLS match, but did you know you can also bet on season-long markets? Known as outrights or futures, these differ from match bets in that they allow you to predict the outcome of the season.

For example, outright betting lets you bet on the MLS Cup odds, choosing in advance which team you think will win the MLS Cup this season. You can place these bets at any point during the season, including before the playoffs have begun.

Outright betting is also available on the Supporters’ Shield MLS odds 2026. This lets you bet on which team will have the best points record at the end of the season.

Conference winner markets are offered too, allowing you to bet on the eventual winner of the Eastern and Western conferences.

You’ll also find golden boot markets at Stake. This outright betting market allows you to predict which player will finish the season as the top scorer in the MLS.

Outright odds change throughout the season based on team performance and other factors. For more details on how these work, check out our soccer betting guide.

Types of MLS bets explained

There are lots of different ways to bet on soccer at Stake. Each match features a wide range of MLS betting markets, including pre-match and live options. Some of the most popular types of MLS bets and MLS Cup betting markets include:

  • 1x2: This is similar to moneyline bets, where you wager on the outcome of the game. Here, there are three possible outcomes. 1 refers to the home win, x refers to the draw, and 2 refers to the away win.

  • Draw no bet: If the match ends in a draw (tie), a no bet is declared, and you get your stake back.

  • Asian total: In this type of bet, you place a wager on the total number of goals you think will be scored in a game, over or under a specific number.

  • Asian handicap: An Asian handicap applies a handicap to the favourite and provides a headstart to the underdog as a way of levelling the playing field.

  • Double chance: A double chance lets you bet on two outcomes at once – such as a home win and a tie, for instance.

  • 1st goal: Place a prop bet on the team (or the player) that you think will score first in a match.

  • Correct score: In a correct score bet, your job is to accurately predict the final score, be it 1-0 or 3-4, for instance.

  • Both teams to score: This bet is on both teams scoring in the fixture.

  • Half-time/Full-time: Place a bet on which team you think will be winning at half-time and then at full-time.
